Respectful Relationships & Wellbeing News

Berry Street and Respectful Relationships

We would love to see you on Monday the 20th of March at 2:30pm for a special afternoon in the classrooms as we share what we doing in wellbeing.  Run by the teachers, you will see some Smiling Minds, Berry Street or Respectful Relationships activities in action. We are really proud of the work we do in this space and would truly love to share this with you.

Personal Strengths

Talking to the students about their own personal strengths is a great way to build confidence and to remind them that being themselves is really important. In everyday life and especially in schools settings we can see students compare themselves to others. Our beautiful young people at Sacred Heart need to be aware that they all bring amazing character strengths into this world and we encourage them to continue to sharpen those, while developing and improving other areas.

Evidence-based research in the field of positive psychology emphasises the importance of identifying and using individual strengths. Social and emotional learning programs which use strength-based approaches promote student wellbeing, positive behaviour and academic achievement.

Activities will assist students to:

-Describe the range and influence of personal qualities and strengths

-Monitor their progress in consolidating their strengths

-Assess the value of working independently.
