The Year 11 VCE Theatre Studies class invites you to their production of Stories In The Dark.
When Tomas, a 15-year-old boy finds himself separated from his family in the unfamiliar streets of a war torn city. He takes refuge in an abandoned house with 16-year-old Anna. Anna tells Tomas folk stories to distract them from the war outside. And so begins a journey into the shifting, shimmering world of ogres, princes, singing bones, foolish lads and wolf-mothers.
Thursday 18th August
5:30pm, College Auditorium.
Admission is free. Register your interest with Jordy Hine.
We would love for you to enjoy a night of theatre and see what we have been developing throughout the semester.
As part of their Personal Development class, three of our Senior VCAL students, Ben, Jiy and Max are organising a Food Drive, with all donations being given to Matt's Place Community Meals.
To show a sense of community, Ben, Jiy and Max would love your support.
Please bring your non-perishable and in-date items to the office by Monday 25 July.
On Tuesday 19th July, Year 12 VCAL students Taylah, Hailey, Victoria, Dylan and Antonia put on a very scrumptious breakfast for those who rode their bikes/scooters or walked to school supporting the ‘Be Active’ Ride2School Day as a part of their project for their Personal Development class.
A big thank you to all the students who participated by riding their bikes/scooters or who walked to school and another huge thank you to the teachers and students who put a hand in and helped out through the morning.
These Year 12 students and Cheltenham Secondary College would like to acknowledge the support from our local IGA (Bernard St) for the generous donations of the food for the breakfast and Swiss Bell Bakery (337 Balcombe Road, Beaumaris) for the donation of rolls to help support the breakfast.
The breakfast was followed by the Year 12 students vs teachers netball game during lunchtime, with the students taking the win 12-7.

In Term 2, our five-manned group in Year 11 VCAL held a dodgeball tournament for all the Year 7 classes. The first week that we worked on this minor project, our group made announcements and placed posters up around the whole school.
June 14th was the first day of the tournament with 6 different classes competing. The games were 7A vs 7C, 7D vs 7F, 7A vs 7E. The winners were class A and class F. We operated it by having one person umpire each game and teachers supervising.
On June 21st every class played apart from 7A since they had already qualified for the grand final that was set to be held on the 27th. The other teams played hard against one another, but in the end 7B was the class that made their way to the finals.
On June 27th, the final was held between 7A vs 7B, the atmosphere in the gym was crazy loud music and the stands were full with many students cheering on their fellow peers. 7A looked very promising from the start but there was one student from 7B who was slowly but gradually sniped each of the 7A boys out til it was a 1 on 1 between the classes. One student remained from each of the two classes but in the end, a girl from 7B triumphed to win her class a very well deserved pizza lunch to be held on Friday 29th July.
Thanks to all the Year 7s for their great participation and sportsmanship!
