Report from the SRC representatives | Council Member Profiles - Andrew Hall and Tobias Swales

Welcome back to Term 3 from the School Council. This edition’s report comes from your SRC representatives on School Council, Tobias and Hassan.

Within the Student Representative Council (SRC) we strive to improve the school in the best interests of the students, we have 26 students, consisting of School and House Captains, along with year-level and sub-school representatives.

The first major success of the year was the establishment of the flagpoles near the front of the school, which are now a proud part of the school. We have been analysing the results of the Attitudes to School Survey that all students complete, seeing where improvement is required, and with the help of a student focus group proposing solutions. Another area of focus was bringing student voice to as many aspects of school as possible, we achieved this by getting students onto all of the School Council sub-committees. We finished semester one on a high with the Biggest Morning Tea, which included the Great Cheltenham Bake Off and was a huge success, raising money for the Cancer Council.

In the coming semester, we are planning to continue to analyse the Attitudes to School Survey results and propose more improvements, focusing on classroom behaviour and engagement. We will also look at the uniform policy, and see if there are any changes that could be made from students' perspectives. We have a big event planned for the end of Term 3, The Big Freeze.
