Parents & Friends Club
Thanks for flipping out with us at Flip Out Box Hill last week. We hope everyone enjoyed their night.
As we close out another term, the Parents and Friends Club (PFC) would like to extend a huge thanks and appreciation to all who contributed, volunteered, donated and attended our events during Term 1 and Term 2. The attendance and support of these events was overwhelming, and we are so grateful to the wonderful EHPS community with how we have all come together and enjoyed these events.
It’s especially pleasing after the disrupted last two years, how open and willing everyone has been to show their support. After all, it’s to create a community and wonderful school for our children. We have received lots of feedback from the past events, suggestions for future events and fundraising opportunities, and this is always welcome and appreciated. As we plan for the remainder of the year, please continue to let us know if you have any feedback or suggestions.
During Terms 1 and 2 we have raised just over $10,000, which is absolutely amazing! Most of the fundraising for 2022 will be going towards improving and creating new playgrounds and outdoor facilities at the school. With the Year 1 and 2 Playground high on the agenda for a makeover. The PFC has already committed $25,000 from the last few years of fundraising to the upgrade of this playground, and our goal is to raise another $25,000 to help fund this project. We are hopeful that work will commence on this project this year.
The PFC also delivers non-fundraising social events and supports school events – April Food's Day, Mother’s Day Coffee, and icy poles for the school cross country, were all funded by the PFC. We believe it’s important to have a balance of social and fundraising events.
There are also two everyday fundraising opportunities that you may not know about - Ritchies IGA Supermarkets and Entertainment (formerly known as the Entertainment Book). Further details below of how to get involved and raise money for our school.
We are excited to announce the events we have planned for Terms 3 and 4. In Term 3 we will hold a School Disco and Father’s Day Treat & Stall. And in Term 4 there will be a Trivia Night, State Election Day Sausage Sizzle & Bake Sale, and an End of Year Celebration. Further details and dates will be provided in due course. The PFC have already begun planning for these events and as always, if you would like to help with any of these events, please reach out to us. If there are any school families that run or own a business or work for any companies that we can also support by purchasing items from for our events, or maybe a parent or family members is a photographer or entertainer, or even have any contacts of suppliers that could assist with our events, please do let us know. We’d also love to be able to support the families and friends of EHPS.
The next PFC meeting will be held on Wednesday 20 July at 7.30pm in the Staff Room at school.
The date of the next secondhand uniform stall will be advised next term. As advised this week, all the items in the lost property boxes have been sorted and checked. All items with identifiable names were returned to students. All other items were returned to the boxes. Anything that is unnamed and remains uncollected by the next secondhand uniform stall may be sold to raise funds for our school.
Enjoy the school holidays and we look forward seeing you at an event in Term 3.
Thank you,
PFC
