On Tuesday 14 June, we had the opportunity to compete in the Eastern Metropolitan Region Cross Country at Yarra Glen Racecourse. It was lots of fun, but it was also really hard! We both ran personal best times, but it just wasn’t enough on the day to make it through to State. Each race was a lot bigger than District and Division, with around 90 kids participating in each event.
India: I am proud that I made it through to regionals in my last year at primary school.
Josh: Now I know how fast the regional runners are, I am motivated to improve for next year.

Round 8 Report: Mount View Red vs Essex Heights on Friday 17 June
On this very wet morning, with a grey sky and wet ground, many students in ISS teams still wanted to play sport in their teams. We hoped that it would stop raining and allow us to play our round. Everyone was nervous because it was the last match of the season and everyone wanted to do their best. We were lucky as in the middle of the game, the sun peeked out of the clouds and we were met with sunshine, hyping up our spirts. Everyone tried very hard and ended up exhausted. Quoting Ms Steward, the last round of ISS was the Goldilocks round for everyone. Inter-School Sports has been a really fun experience and everyone had a great time developing their sport skills and as a team.

Finals: Friday 24 June
Today, the Mixed Netball team travelled on a bus to the Mulgrave District Inter-School Sport Winter Finals held at the Waverley Netball Centre at Jells Park. The boys represented our school with much grace and sportsmanship. The school is very proud of their efforts and hard work coming in Runners-Up in this year. Well done boys!! Here is a rundown of the event that took place.
Netball Finals Recap
The game started with some amazing goals by Orlando, however Mount View Gold always came close by.
The second quarter went well as Jeremy, Orlando and Jonas quickly thought and used the free open space to their advantage quickly rising possession of the ball.
Mount View on the other hand had some amazing defense and offense and quickly intercepted and amazingly went down the court and shot some amazing goals.
The third quarter, everyone was stressed and everything was falling apart, our defense was melting and their Goal Shooter scored so many points on us. Our shooters were getting tired so we missed a lot of buckets.
Fourth quarter was the same. We missed a lot of shots and our defense was horrible. Mount View Gold won the finals 32-8. They destroyed us, but we still had so much hope left in us, and it was fun. I hope we can win it next year.
