Inter School Cross Country:

It was a huge buzz for our children to be back competing against other schools - after two and a half years of you know what.

There was a level of excitement from all the schools and all the competitors that I have not seen the like of before. When the first race was set to go there were massive crowds of children up against the barrier ropes yelling and cheering their support. It was so good to witness this - our children have missed the thrill of competing and challenging themselves while wearing the 'purple and green.'

Overall we finished second top school - as we have done for quite a few years. Huge credit to Mrs Greenhalgh for her awesome work preparing our team - especially with the grounds being so wet and muddy. Our big canopy was definitely a big help but it is not the same as running cross country trainings on a field.

The top ten finishers all score points that go towards the school challenge, so though we only won two events, our runners overall were very consistent and gained us enough points to finish second. Congratulations to all our top ten finishers.

Special congratulations to race winner Maddie, who made it look effortless - she was first, daylight was second as they say. Congratulations to Aqeel who was officially third but without a bit of a mixup probably would have been second.

There are a LOT of photos to follow - 99 actually - but these were cut down from over 500 originally. Enjoy.
