Student Achievements
Sporting Champions
Over the last few months we have had the wonderful opportunity of competing against other schools in a range of sports. We also held a very successful Athletics Carnival, where we raised over $2,200 for the Royal Children's Hospital. Over the years we have contributed over $10,000 to the Hospital's Good Friday Appeal, and we thank our community for their generous donations.
We have some very talented Sporting Champions at our school and our Age Group Champions for 2022 are listed below. Each of these students were presented with their medal by our Principal, Mr Smith, late last week:

InterSchool Sports Competitions
Year 8 Boys Football
Our Year 8 Boys Football team recently spent the day at Sweeney Reserve competing against several schools in Interschool District Sport.
We entered the first match against Edenbook high on excitement, low on body heat, and medium in confidence levels of how we would go for the day. PSC piled on nine goals to come out 51 point winners in just 30 minutes of football. Jai Waterston starred with 4 goals, Coby from 8.3 also chimed in with 3 sausage rolls! Hunter Beaumont showed great signs of what was to come through the day.
Match 2 was against Officer, our rivals from down the road, and we smacked them by 5 goals. Affectionately dubbed the Human Witches Hat early in the day, Jack Grealy proved his doubters wrong when he sent the pigskin sailing through the big posts for a 6 pointer which was a real highlight of the game. Hunter was everywhere again collecting plenty of possessions and a nice goal.
Match 3 against Kambrya was awesome! We won by 8 goals. Hunter kicked 4, the Human Witches Hat bobbed up with another goal, and it was an excellent team effort. Jai kicked another 2 goals which brought his tally for the day to 8, and Ryan Fox was prolific in the midfield again.
Match 4 against Koo Wee Rup was extremely competitive, where the boys followed what we had worked on all day and fought hard, but we ultimately went down by 26 points. Rory Conlan was superb in defence taking numerous intercept marks and Jayden Kaye kicked a great goal.
Overall, a great day had by all, behaviour and effort on the field was fantastic!

Year 8 Girls Netball
Our wonderful Netball team played valiantly in all of their matches, but ultimately were not successful. The respect and enthusiasm the students showed throughout the day was exceptional. We are very proud of all of the students in not only their behaviour, but managing to show such perseverance in what was a very cold, wintery day. Well done to all of the team. Our Netball Team players can be seen in the photo at the top of the page.
Senior Basketball
Our Senior Basketball team recently took part in a very successful competition. They remained undefeated for the day and took out the division title. Congratulations to all of the players!
InterSchool Chess Tournament
On Thursday, 16th June, our school hosted an InterSchool Chess Tournament with students from John Monash Science School, Xavier College, Nossal High School and St. Leonard's College all attending. It was a very exciting and competitive tournament, with our young team competing against many senior students.
Congratulations to Nossal High School on their win.
Our students showed tremendous respect to their fellow students and visitors and played some wonderful matches. Everyone had at least a couple of wins throughout the day. Six of our skilled chess players received medals and we couldn't be more proud of them and all of our remarkable students!
Leah Bailey qualified for Girls State Finals and our best player of the day, Amrit Dhillon, qualified for Middle School State Finals.
Our medal winners from left to right: Anaytdeep Kaur: Girl's Bronze Medalist; Sinsarut Chitkanwong: Years 7-8 Bronze Medal; Leah Bailey: Girl's Silver Medal; Malia Nimaya and Tannah Phelan: Bronze Medal winners and Amrit Dhillon: Years 7-8 Gold Medalist.
Art & Technology Exhibition
On Monday, 20th June we held an Art and Technology Exhibition with curated works created by students from Years 7-10, who are completing a semester subject in Art or Technology. It was a wonderful opportunity, as a school community, to have the chance to come together to celebrate the efforts and creativity of our talented students.
A wide range of stunning artworks in various styles and media were on display, from photographic works, to textiles, fashion, paintings, drawings, woodwork, digital art and sculptures.
Visitors to the exhibition were asked to vote for their favourite works and the People's Choice Award winners will be revealed next term!
Below you will find photos of the fabulous displays.
