VCE Drama Ensemble Performance

Exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence

As VCE Drama students, last week we performed our group ensembles. Given the topic of Artificial Intelligence, it allowed us to explore the possibilities of a futuristic world where artificial intelligence could be commonplace. Each group was responsible for writing the script and creating dialogue that brought their characters and their relationships to life.

However, as the big night approached, COVID and various setbacks meant we were forced to ride the waves of uncertainty, and for a brief moment we weren’t even sure if the show would happen. But as they say in show biz, “The show must go on!” Our audience laughed, they cried, and everything came together magically, making it a very special night indeed.

For me, choosing to undertake VCE Drama as an advancement subject in Year 10 was the perfect decision, and it’s opened up so many wonderful opportunities. I was able to meet and collaborate with my incredibly talented and encouraging peers, who I now take great pride in calling my friends. I highly recommend taking Drama if you have a passion for the performing arts. It will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Thank you to everyone who was involved, and a special big thanks to our wonderful Drama teacher, Liz Bastian, you made it such an amazing experience!
