From the Principal's desk

Welcome to Term 3. The last two weeks have been quite busy with NAIDOC Celebrations and the Meerkat performance of Stellarphant by James Foley. Children fully engaged in the activities, and it was great to see children having so much fun.

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday) to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As this fell during our school holidays, we celebrated our NAIDOC week in the first week back at school. It was an opportunity for our children to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

There has been quite a bit of activity at the school during the past week, and we now have had our floors in the older part of the building restumped, boards replaced, and new carpet laid. Yesterday we also had new shades installed at the front of the school and behind the toilet block. This will provide some excellent cover in the coming summer months.

Next week we look forward to the Year 56 Lightning Premiership at Yarrawonga on the Friday. It is great to be able to hold these activities once again.

Regards
