Year 5

Hands On Science incursion

The Year 5 Hands On Science incursion will be held next Tuesday, 19 July. 

This 90 minute lesson allows students to experiment with basic electrical circuits to gain an understanding of what electricity is, and how electrical current travels in a circuit. Students investigated conductors and insulators of electricity, and learn about how electricity is generated. This incursion challenges students to think about how electricity can be generated and harnessed in many different ways; making it perfect for later year levels.

The learning outcomes for this incursion:

• Understand energy transformation and transference of electricity using electrical circuits.
• Understand how electricity is generated and how it interacts with various materials.
