Numeracy

Foundation students have been learning about volume and capacity through water play.

Reading and Writing 

We have been digging deep into our non-fiction books and beginning to write our own. In phonics, we have been focusing on the b, d, p and q letters and how to differentiate them. We have been looking at the starting movement with our lips when we make the sound, if it is a circle it’s a d or q, if it is a line it is a b or p.

Year 3/4

Congratulations to these 3/4 students who presented their Information Reports on their chosen topic to the entire cohort. Brave stuff!

Year 5/6

Writing 

 Students have been working very hard on their information reports!

Low stakes writing is a popular activity with students as they get to choose what they would like to write about, and what style they would like to use. Some examples of writing that students choose to complete are writing jokes and riddles, writing song lyrics and creating a melody to go with it or writing get well cards.
