ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services. For the first Sunday of the month, there is one combined service, with a blended style of worship.  This means that this Sunday, 6th August, there will be one service at 9.30am.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @ St Paul is on each Tuesday during Term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30am onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30am each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we looked at different types of fruit from the book ‘Handa’s Surprise’ by Eileen Browne, played with the ever popular moon sand in the sensory play space and continued learning some new songs in circle time.

Next week we will be exploring different nursery rhymes for Nursery Rhyme day.

For more information about anything playgroup related contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible readings focus on the miracle of Jesus feeding of the five thousand, where Jesus took five loaves of bread and two fish, blessed it and there was enough food to feed the thousands of people who had come to listen to him speak.  This miracle demonstrates the compassion of Jesus as he provided for all those in need on that day.  Still today, Jesus shows compassion and provides for all our daily needs.

“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14)

Mealtime Prayer:

Jesus, bless the food upon our dishes, as you did the loaves and fishes. By your grace we eat and live, hear our thanks for all you give. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we set out each day to follow you.  Please be kind to us and care for us. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s name) May the Lord feed you in body and in spirit and meet all your needs.  Amen.

PASTY BAKES

The next pasty bake is Thursday 10th August.  Pasties are $15 for a half dozen.  Put your order through to Renate on 0405 433 030 or contact the Church Office on 8262 4690 to arrange payments and pick up.  Funds raised go towards the ministry and mission of St Paul Lutheran Church.

LUTHERAN CARE

Did you know that Lutheran Care maintain a food pantry to help families in need?  This program is called Loaves and Fishes and they require new food donations each month.  For the month of August, they are looking for donations of 2-minute noodles, tinned tuna, tinned fruit, tinned spaghetti, baked beans, muesli bars and roll ups. Donations are collected through the church office or can be donated directly to Lutheran Care, 309 Prospect Road.
