ART NEWS

It is wonderful to hear the buzz and excitement of student voices in the Art room, after the mid-year break. The positive relationships between students and staff shine in the creative and engaging space that the Art room provides.

We have begun the term on a reflective note, as we learn about the events of the past and partake in lessons focussing on NAIDOC week to enrich our knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures.

We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside Miss Turnbull, who leads our Koori Champions and Multicultural Club, in creating meaningful artworks, which both educational and respectful to the first nations people. Our artworks focussed on several aspects including individual dot art and collaborative murals. We heard from some of our Koori Champions, who shared with us stories about their culture and families. How lucky we are to be a part of such a diverse community.

Take care,
