Akein Samaratunga Gunawardena Koralage

My name is Akein and I was born and raised in Fiji.

I have been swimming in Fiji for over six years in a town called Nadi. I represented my school, Mount St Mary's, in the School Nationals and have participated in many other Fijian competitions as well. In my last competition in Fiji, I won six gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze. 

My main stroke is butterfly but I am also a long-distance swimmer. I have swam the 1500m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 400m freestyle and also the 200m, 100m and 50m butterfly. I have won gold in all of these events. I have also won gold in the 400m, 200m and 100m individual medleys.

When I came to Australia, I joined a swimming club. So far, I have only competed in one competition achieving fourth place in two events, the 50m and 100m butterfly. I am in the senior competitive squad and my goal is to represent NSW and Australia one day in swimming.
