Kia Orana! In Week 4 our School Community will be celebrating Cook Island Language Week.
This year’s theme is 'Ātuitui’ia au ki te au peu o tōku kāinga Ipukarea, which means, "connect me to the traditions & culture of my homeland".
This year's theme focuses on deepening our people's connection to their culture, and ultimately, their language. It focuses on connecting Cook Islanders to the traditions, cultures and dialects of their many islands. This week we have a few activities happening for our students to get involved in.
Monday – Breakfast Club will be serving up Raro Donuts with Nutella. Get in Quick!
Tuesday – Lunch Club is serving up Cook Island Pink Potato salad with grilled sausage. (VIP Meal tickets are up for grabs, if you want to know how to get one. Details are in the library on the MEAS Wall)
Wednesday – DIY Island patterned flower making (Library)
Thursday – DIY Cowrie shell bracelet making (Library)
Week 9 – Tongan Language Week (Watch this Space)
