Religion & Wellbeing News

Dear Families,
We will have a parent information evening later in the term. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Parent Information Evening - Communicating with your child post COVID
Thursday 31st August: 7pm - 8.15pm
The evening will be facilitated by our school counsellor Melanie D'Vaz and will cover the topic of communication with our children especially with the challenges of a post COVID environment. Some areas that will be discussed are:
* communication
* screen time
* friendship
* setting boundaries
* anxiety
We hope to make the evening as informative and interactive as possible.
Babysitting will also be provided on the night to make it easier to attend!
Wellbeing and Social Skills
This term, I have been supporting teachers in the Year 1-4 classes to deliver a weekly social skills and wellbeing program. Today the Year 1/2 and 2/3 classes discussed how to make smart guesses in social situations by using the clues we can pick up by using our eyes, ears, brain and heart.
The Year 3/4 class used the Social Stencil program today to discuss what connected listening is all about. They found out that connected listening uses the whole body and many aspects to truly listen in a connected way.
Here is a diagram that we used to explore connected listening.
Take Care,
Kate Harris
