Sibling enrolments for Foundation 2024

Does your child at Marlborough have a younger sibling due to start in Foundation next year?  If so, it is now time to enrol. Please contact the Office to collect a Foundation 2024 Enrolment Pack or you can print out the attached enrolment form and return to the office by 25th August.

It is important to follow the state wide timeline to enrol your child in Foundation. Enrolling your child in line with the timelines allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities and ensures your child has the best start to school. There is detailed information about the enrolment process under the section in the newsletter "Foundation Enrolments 2024".

If you have any questions about our Kinder Transition Program or questions about starting Foundation classes, please contact me.

Junior School Council Fundraiser

This Friday on the 4th August, the Junior School Council will be running a fundraiser to fund supplies for some new artwork in our school.  We are planning a mural for the wall near the Science room which will be painted by Tara Cull, a local artist.

Parent/Guardian Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians has been selected to participate in this year’s survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

Kindergarten Partnerships

We are continuing to foster our collaborative working relationships with our local kindergartens. This term we have had Community Kids Heathmont and Choklits Kindergarten Ringwood visit our school. The kindergarten students from Community Kids enjoyed learning about turtles and sea creatures and then got to make their own turtle with the Foundation students. Choklits Kindergarten had lots of fun sharing the story 'Where's Galah' and then exploring our Foundation playground with their new friends.

Our Grade 4 students have completed their first visit to Community Kids Kindergarten where they read books to the kinder students. The kindergarten children taught our Grade 4s how to do the alphabet and numbers 1-10 in Auslan. What a great experience to share our knowledge.
