Principal's Report

Buddies Program

It has been wonderful to see the Kindergarten children from Community Kids, Cuddly Bear and Choklits interacting with our Foundation children. They have made some marvellous craft items together.  The Year Four students have started to visit the Kindergartens in the area and have really enjoyed reading with the younger students.

Book week : Read, Grow, Inspire.

On Monday  21st August, we will be celebrating book week with special whole school literacy activities.  We invite students to dress up as their favourite book character to really immerse themselves in the fun theme of the day. Students will also be involved in a House group activity where they will share a book with their House group and complete a related task.

Uniform

At Marlborough Primary School we have a strong focus on encouraging students to maintain high standards around the wearing of correct uniform.

Wearing a uniform gives a sense of belonging; makes students easy to identify; makes life simpler for parents and also establishes good routines and habits for high school and beyond.

We have seen really good compliance this term however there are still some students wearing jumpers/hoodies that are not in line with our uniform policy.

Can we please ask for your assistance in ensuring that all uniform items worn to school comply with our Student Dress Code policy, which can found attached.

Curriculum Days

The remaining Pupil Free Days for this year are Monday 11th of September (last week of term 3) and Friday the 17th of November (as it has changed from Monday 6th November).

Bookings for Camp Australia are currently open for those parents requiring their service.

As a final note, I will be on Long Service Leave from Monday 7th August to Friday 15th September. I look forward to seeing you all at the start of Term 4, on Monday 2nd October. I know I leave you in the capable hands of the Marlborough  staff!  Lisa will continue to run the office until the Substantive Principal is announced.

Thanks,

Pippa Davis and Lisa Mackney
