Yr 9 Future Makers

This term is a busy and exciting term for many Year 9s with sports (including the school downhill and XC ski program) and the Future Makers program, run by Bogong Outdoor School.

The Future Makers program is an integral part of the school’s program for Year 9 students and its outcome is in its name; Future Makers. It is NOT a ski/ snow camp, but a time for the students to regroup, reflect and often extend themselves to achieve success when they may have thought that they wouldn't or couldn't. The program gets the students to think not only about their impact on the environment, but impact on self and others, with visits to tertiary institutions, volunteering (Hoppet set-up day) and the Bogong High Plains.

Future Makers has been running at this school for approximately 10 years and is an integrated part of the Year 9 syllabus, not a stand alone camp; thus, the expectation is that all Year 9 students attending MBSC  attend not only the school based day events, but the 2 week camp held at the Bogong campus each year.  Tomorrow morning, 25th of July, we will have a representative from Bogong Outdoor School here to answer any questions from students or parents. Please feel free to drop in if you have a question. We will be starting from 9am. If you have any questions about the camp or Future Makers as a whole, please feel free to contact the Year 9 Coordinator, Mr Brad Redmond any time.
