School Council Elections 2022

School Council Elections 2022: Would you like to be a member of our school council?

This is a notice to inform the school community that we are about to commence the process of electing the school council for the 2022 school year.

I would like to firstly thank the parents whose time is coming to an end on the school council for their dedication and ongoing commitment to the school and community.

Nominations are now open for four (4) parent vacancies. These vacancies are for a two-year position on the school council with a commitment of eight (8) meetings spread across the school year and membership on a school council sub-committee. At Northcote Primary School these are Finance, Education and Policy, Environment (buildings and grounds), and Community (fundraising and events).

We are looking for people who are committed to improving the educational outcomes for all of our students and to upholding our school values of respect, collaboration, and community. Effective school councils have a broad range of experience, skills, and expertise. This is important because as a school councillor, you represent the voice of the wider school community.  Face-to-face and online training is available to help new and returning councillor’s develop the skills and knowledge for the job.

If you are an enthusiastic parent interested in getting more involved or know someone who is, we would love to hear from you.  Nominations close at 4:00 pm on Thursday 24th February 2022, and nomination forms are available from the school office on request.

For more information on what’s involved, please see the attached flyer and do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Shaun Wells, Principal
