Congratulations Girton Singers and Junior School Performance Choir

Congratulations Girton Singers and the Junior School Performance Choir who have won their respective sections in the Echofest Music Competitions. The Performance Choir competed against senior school choirs and took out first place.

Congratulations Varley Bobart (6 Millward)

Congratulations to Varley Bobart, 6 Millward, for being awarded the 2021 Heidi Teague Young Historian Award for Junior School.  The Young Historian Award is donated by the Bendigo Historical Society each year to a student who takes a particular interest in the history of their community.

Throughout the year, Varley has demonstrated independence and initiative as a historical researcher. She acted on her curiosity, conducting in-depth research about the experiences of the Stolen Generations and the migrants involved in constructing the Snowy Mountain Scheme. In both these instances, Varley has gone above and beyond expectations to locate information, explore perspectives and present her research to her peers. Her use of storytelling, through narratives and annotated artefacts, has engaged and informed her peers. She continues to pursue and build on her understanding in these areas.  Varley was presented her award at our Final Junior School Assembly.
