Senior School News
Welcome to the students, families and staff of Senior School 2022 and a special welcome to our new students. As the new school year commences, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce the Senior School Team:
Senior School Leader: Jeff Micallef
Year 10 Coordinator: Elizabeth Tasiopoulos
Year 11 Coordinator: Karen Eap
Year 12 Coordinator: Laura Brancatella
Careers and Pathways Coordinator: Heather Palm
International Student Coordinator: Tara Fang
VASS Coordinator: Meaghan Garnham
Students seem to have settled in to the start of the year quite well. Now is the time for students to get organised and stay organised. Students are reminded to manage their time accordingly and prepare fully for upcoming SACs and assignments. Our goal is about giving students at Glen Eira College the best chance of achieving successful outcomes from their Senior School years. In doing this we aim to continue to set high expectations that we are confident our students can reach.
A reminder that all VCE subjects consist of outcomes. To pass a subject the student must pass ALL outcomes. This is generally done through SACs (school assessed coursework) or SATs (school assessed tasks). If a student does not pass a SAC they will usually be required to sit a SAC redemption the following Tuesday after school. This will enable them to receive an S for the topic. The SAC redemptions will begin on Tuesday 22nd February.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact myself or someone in the Senior School Team.

Year 12 News
The start of the year has been busy for all Year 12 students. Students have been completing verification tests in each subject to assess their level of understanding of the knowledge and skills that they acquired whilst completing their holiday homework. SACs will commence soon.
Congratulations the following students for being selected for the Year 12 Executive:
Yashasvi Agrawal, Darcy Messenger, Lauren Raftopoulos, Dahlia Berhang, Caitlin Blair, Alicia Scott, April McKay, Ruthvik Vinjamuri, Sofia Micmacher and Annabelle Basman. They will work with senior school staff on various events throughout the year.
Last week students received their Year 12 jackets. The jackets are official school uniform and make the Year 12 students highly visible to the general public. Therefore, it is imperative that students continue to behave appropriately at all times.
The Year 12 Formal is being organised and this event will be held on 24th March 2022 at Merrimu Receptions. All approval and payment is on the XUNO portal.
A reminder that VCAA special examination arrangements are due on 25th March 2022.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at the college if you have any queries about Year 12 matters.
