Above and Beyond

St. Joseph's is endeavouring to go 'Above and Beyond' in 2022. People are already being welcomed to the school with this wonderful display created by our students during their Visual Art classes.

AROUND THE CLASSROOMS - THIS WEEK IN THE SENIOR 5/6 HUB

The Year 5/6 Students have settled in nicely to their new Senior Hub space, situated this year on the lower level of the school.  The students have participated in the Start Up Program, where the students had the opportunity to work on their relationship building skills, their social and emotional capabilities and explored the School Values and our own Senior Hub Mantra (Respect, Kindness, Team Work and Fun); we are endeavouring to maintain a successful and happy year together. As a 5/6 Team, we achieved our first Marble Jar Reward last week and enjoyed making a giant poster with 'Kindness Compliments' for the younger students to read on their way out to the playground and to further brighten up our Senior Hub entrance :

Here are some of the initial thoughts of our Senior Students so far:

Nate (Yr 5): I am really looking forward to camp and the swimming carnival.  I am loving science!

Lachy (Yr 5): I've really enjoyed science and can't wait for Camp Rumbug.

Jimmy (Yr 5): I love the new learning space. School is fun and cool!

Elizabeth (Yr 5): I am looking forward to camp.  The 5/6 Learning Hub is a great place to hang out. Numero is a fun maths game that we have learnt.

Rani (Yr 5): I am so excited for camp. The 5/6 Senior Hub is really cool...... I like how inclusive it is!

Ava (Yr 6): I like being in robotics.  I love science and am looking forward to camp.

Layla (Yr 6) : Being in 5/6 is fun!  You are a leader and you get to participate in sport and brain  breaks.

Evie (Yr 5): In sport, we play lots of fun games which makes it really fun.  The best part so far is making lots of friends!

We held our first Whole School Assembly for the year last week, with our McAuley Captains doing a fine job of leading this.  Leadership Badges were presented by our principal, Mrs O'Shannassy, to our Year 6 students in their various roles.
