School Advisory Council

Monica O'Shannassy convened our first meeting of the St. Joseph's School Advisory Council for 2022. The council met via Google Meet on the 9th of February. It was with great excitement and enthusiasm that we discussed what has been going on in our school community thus far and also shared our aspirations and visions for St Joseph’s 2022.

We are very privileged to be members of the SAC and we understand that our role as a member of the advisory committee is to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider community and school leaders. The thoughts and opinions of all members of our school community are valued; we are introducing you to the current members so that if you have any items that you would like to be considered in our next meeting, or any future meetings, you will know who to contact.

As a strong connection to our Parish is paramount we are honoured to have Father John McGinty as a member of the SAC. With our Faith as our foundation all meetings begin with the acknowledgement of country and a prayer. All members of the committee are asked to lead us in a prayer on a rotation.

Agenda items that were discussed during this meeting were the effectiveness of Valet Drop off and pick up, the value of the school newsletter, the school sports uniform, music lesson resumption, marketing of the school, the formation of a marketing sub committee and the hope for the construction of an outdoor undercover space in the future. If you have anything that you would like us to address please reach out to any member. We are all very excited about what we can achieve as a whole school community.
