Year 9 Excursion to LaTrobe University

Friday 1st October

Our wonderful and intrepid Year 9s had their first whole year level excursion for 2022 to LaTrobe University.

LaTrobe University is our partner university, and, in that role, they provide specialised programs and events for Lalor North students.

The first goal for the day was to familiarise themselves with the university environment through a map reading bingo activity. We loved the old school maps as well as finding interesting places around the university. Have a look at the wonderful photos from our trek around the campus!

At midday students had free time in the Agora and bought lunch chosen from one of the many food outlets. Our students looked like real university students as they sat and ate with everyone else. So well behaved and mature.

With lunch eaten, the group moved to a lecture theatre to complete a session around future careers. Students explored a futuristic situation where a small group of astronauts were stranded on the planet Mars. Students justified why they selected the specific 5 jobs needed to survive for months on Mars.

Such sophisticated answers and justifications.

Well done everyone.
