Student Progress Check

Teachers will be completing their final progress check for all Year 12 students in Unit 3/ 4 subjects this week.  Results will be available on Compass from this Friday afternoon.  Progress Checks for all Year 7 – 11 students will be completed in early Term 4, ready for release to students and their families on Friday 21 October.

The purpose of this round of progress checks is to ensure families know how their students are progressing for the semester before the semester reports are completed mid-Term 4.  Being the second for this semester, and the fifth and final round for this academic year, teachers will report on each student’s learning behaviours which relate to our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best, as well as Attendance, lessons conducted, lessons attended, and an overall percentage.  The percentage used for attendance is the School/VCE Attendance. This is the percentage of time the student’s whereabouts is explained/accounted for by the school. The calculation for this percentage is (Present + Late + Not Present for School Activity) all divided by Sessions conducted.

More information regarding our progress checks in general can be found on the Parent/ Carers Compass Home Page by going to Favourites (Star menu) and selecting Reporting Information for Families.

It is likely that you will receive emails from relevant teachers about work that students may need to complete and/ or a general reminder about students checking that they are up to date.  These holidays might be a good time for students to catch up on anything that they were not able to finish during the term. I always suggest getting homework/study completed in the early part of the holiday break so that the rest of the holidays can be for relaxation and recuperation.

Well done to all our students for another huge term!

Take care.
