To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, last week the Wellbeing Team ran a number of lunchtime activities - check them out below!

On Monday 10 October, students created chatterboxes to assist with stress management strategies.

Odd Sock Day

Students were invited to wear odd/brightly coloured socks on 11 October to raise money for 'Get Growing' resilience groups in 2023. An Odd Sock Day fashion parade, supported by GROW Australia, was held and prizes were awarded for the craziest and brightest socks.

Sprinkle Kindness Fairy Bread Celebration

We celebrated Fairy Bread Day on 12 October so we could 'sprinkle kindness' to our awesome students and teachers. With the help of our SWAG team and some extra helpful students, we buttered, dunked and plated about 1000 pieces of fairy bread. Sprinkling a little bit of kindness goes go a long way! A HUGE thank you to Bakers Delight Southland for their very generous donation and wonderful communication.

Dodgeball & Tug of War

Students enjoyed playing dodgeball and tug of war in the gym (due to inclement weather!) at lunchtime on 13 October. Thank you to Bayside Youth Services for supporting this event.

Mindfulness Mandala Colouring

We ended Mental Health Awareness week with a relaxing mandala session.

Body Kind Youth Survey - Student Voices Can Make a Difference

Butterfly Foundation is inviting all young people aged 12 - 18 to have their voices heard about body image. This is a chance to complete the first national survey on body image, the Body Kind Youth Survey, so Butterfly can better understand the body image experiences of young Australians, get young people's views on what needs to change to create a more Body Kind Australia and advocate to the top levels of Government.

The online survey is voluntary, anonymous, has ethics approval, takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and requires parental consent for under 15's.

Survey closes on Friday 21 October - Help Butterfly help more young people to be kinder to their body and encourage your child to participate.  They can enter the draw to win a gift voucher when they participate.
