Trigonometry PBL

Our Year 9 Maths students have been putting their trigonometry knowledge to work to calculate the heights of different objects and buildings around the school for their Term 4 PBL. They have made their own clinometers to measure angles and used trundle wheels to measure distances. They have also looked at alternative methods to measure heights, such as those used by lumberjacks and Native Americans. It will be interesting to see how close they are to the actual heights!
