Y8 Our World

Luna Park Excursion

In preparation for the Our World PBL for Term 4, the Year 8 students had a day at Luna Park and surrounding areas. The students conducted market research at the St Kilda foreshore and Acland Street to determine the importance Luna Park has on the local public and on local businesses. The students represented Beaumaris Secondary College with pride and showed a great deal of respect towards all the people they interviewed.

Once the market research had been conducted, the students sat at O’Donnell gardens for lunch. It was then time to conduct further ‘research’ within Luna Park itself. Although the weather wasn’t ideal for thrill seeking, the students soldiered on and conducted in-depth research of all the rides, retail outlets and food stores within the park itself.

Overall, the Year 8 students had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the opportunity to go on an excursion as a cohort. After such conclusive market research, we look forward to seeing what the Year 8 students produce for their Term 4 PBL.
