MEN

By Josh Pollard- Men's PL Coach

With all the challenges at the moment, we are focused on trying to

keep the boys connected and especially use this time to improve our

fitness while we are not able to train as a team on the pitch.

Some of the activities that we have been doing whilst being in isolation:

- Fitness challenges every week; the boys have to post scores and the

winner gets a prize. It is great for some healthy competition between

the players, but more importantly it provides some good banter as

well!

Some great times have been run in our challenges. Key shout outs go to

the 'Beep test King' Braden Pitcher posting a score of 14.4 and our

2km time trial King is Simmo (Simon Bowles) running in a time of

6.17minutes!

The players have also organised a great zoom meeting each week, where

we all jump online and go through some funny segments. The segments

are a mix of hockey related information and taking the Micky out of

each other. It’s a good laugh and a way for us to connect as best we

can socially.

Right now it’s hard to go through team structures, however as coaching

staff we are able to have individual chats with the players online,

sometimes just to touch base and have a chat about hockey and life.

The aim is to get each of our players up to speed and confident with

what they need to do, so when we are able to train and play together

as a group (hopefully soon!) we can focus on fine tuning our structures

with a good level of fitness and understanding built up amongst the

playing group.

Cheers Josh
