SCHOOL LEADERSHIP'S MESSAGE

Leadership' Message

The school year is now underway in earnest with many of the traditional “start of year” activities taking place.

Earlier this fortnight our annual House Swimming Sports were held down at the Korumburra pool.  We had fantastic attendance on the day and all students showed a tremendous attitude with everyone having a go and earning points for their house.  Many students achieved outstanding performances with many records being broken.  Several of these students will go on to represent KSC at the Interschool Swimming and we wish them all the best in future competitions.

Our Year 7 students are returning from their school camp at Grantville today.  While the weather may have been a bit challenging at times, I understand everyone had a great time.  It was fantastic to see all our Year 7 students meeting and making new friends with students who may have come from different primary schools as well as challenging themselves on a range of activities.  All our staff, led by year 7  co-ordinator Brock Churchill, also did an outstanding job working with our students.

All students should now be settled in and comfortable in all their classes.  We know that effective learning will occur when students are clear on the content and other requirements of their subjects and encourage all students and parents to communicate regularly with their teachers about this.  It is also a timely reminder of the role that being organised plays in promoting effective learning.  Remaining up to date through completing all homework and submitting all assessment tasks on time should also be a goal for all students at all year levels.

Communication between parents and teachers is an important part of achieving great outcomes for all students.  A range of options is now available for parents to contact teachers and the school including email, Facebook messenger etc.  Through this, it is important to remember that school and staff emails, as well as our Facebook messages, may not be checked outside business hours.  However, it remains our aim to return any communication to the school within 1-2 business days.
