HOPE

RISE: Strength & Perserverance

Good morning Aspire CCPA,

I hope everyone is enjoying their day so far. HAPPY Friday!!!

In honor of Black History Month, I would like to share with you some words from Misty Copeland. But first, let me share with you some background information about her. Misty Copeland is an African American Female Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre (ABT). The first to be promoted in the companies 75-year history.

Misty was 13 years old when she began dancing ballet and since then has continued to grow and develop into the award-winning dancer she is today. She has won awards from Dance Magazine Awards 2014 honoree to winning a Short Award for Best in Dance in Social Media.

One of Misty's many quotes that resonated with me today is

" I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday"

This quote gives me peace of mind as well as gives me hope. It reminds me that no matter how bad my day has gone, or how many times I stumble I am still closer to meet my personal and professionals goals than I was yesterday or the day before. Every day we learn and grow from our mistakes as well as the people around us.

As an offering CCPA to you all, I advise you all to give yourself grace and to continue to move forward. Whenever you're experiencing doubt or having a challenging time, remind yourself that the journey itself is more rewarding than the outcome.

Have an amazing weekend everyone.

Best,

Mike
