Year 10 Biology

Year 10 Biology students recently completed their Immunity unit.  As part of this unit the students researched aboriginal and indigenous health natural remedies that could be used as a first or second line of defence.  The students then developed their summarising and communication skills when they had to design a poster to display what they had learned. 

VCAL Food

The VCAL students have been working hard towards the end of Semester 1. PDS food have been cooking lots of culturally diverse dishes during their practical sessions including Okonomiyaki (Japanese cabbage pancakes), Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) and Vietnamese spring rolls.

 

For many students, this is the first time they have experienced cooking or eating these dishes. They have been able to demonstrate their skill development in the kitchen by cooking to an unfamiliar recipe and using their problem solving skills to produce excellent food.
