Book Week

Ms. Nicole & Miss Maddy

We are so excited to say that Book Week 2022 is almost upon us. PMPS will be celebrating this fabulous week from Monday 22nd August to Friday 26th August. This year’s theme is the thought-provoking, indigenous inspired … Dreaming with Eyes Open.

Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to explore many of the nominated CBCA books, enter competitions, play trivia, and of course, dress up on Friday 26th August as their favourite book character.

We have also teamed up again with our friends at Mary Martin Bookshop, who will host an onsite Book Fair and generously contribute 10% of ONLINE PRESALES towards buying books for the Library.

How can you participate and beat the crowds? From today until Saturday August 20th, browse their extensive range of books here, purchase online and select ‘Pick up at PMPS Book Fair,’ as you proceed through the online checkout. Families can then pick up their presale orders at the Book Fair, which is to be held in the Library,  between 3.30 to 4.00pm on:

  • Monday 22nd August
  • Tuesday 23rd August
  • Thursday 25th August
  • Friday 26th August

Alternatively, families can come shop on one of these days, and chat with their friendly, knowledgeable staff. Oh, and one lucky family each day of the Book Fair will win a ‘golden ticket’ prize’. Good luck and happy shopping!

Finally, we would like to continue our new tradition of raising money for a special cause on Dress Up Day with an Ice Bucket Challenge. Some of our fabulous teachers are prepared to have ice thrown over their heads, so families are invited to make a monetary donation on the day and students will get to watch the event. All donations will help raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

So start thinking, researching, making and hunting for costumes, and we look forward to celebrating reading with our wonderfully avid PMPS readers soon.

Happy reading,
