Did you know…

Past students who grew up in your area go onto do the most amazing things.

Like Nicola Love who is a World Record Holder for most consecutive marathons run by a woman. (Her record is 63 marathons in 63 days!).

Nicola is a past Corio North High student. She always loved to run and later in life she decided to make her passion her life’s work.

She’s run across the world, on different continents and countries. In torrential rain and through sandy deserts. She’s run ultra-marathons (over 40km). She’s run on a broken pelvis. And with all that running experience she still thinks around this area are some of the best running tracks in the world, like in the You Yangs, and our new school turf.

Get out there and take advantage of them! Who knows we might have another future World Record holder in our midst...?

NAIDOC Week, Alumni Guest Speaker

We kicked off the first week of term with Alumni guest speaker Sharelle. As part of NAIDOC week Sharelle spoke on the theme ‘Get Up. Show Up. Stand Up.’

A Norlane High Alum, Sharelle has had a distinguished and impressive career, and now works as a Senior Policy officer in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

Do you have a desire to help shape policy and laws?

Sharelle started her career with a Journalism Degree, but there’s lots of ways to get there. Having a say in how your community is run is an incredibly powerful thing to do.

We encourage all students to have a think and aim big. Your voice and opinion are incredibly valuable and could help share our future society.

Mentors

Dreams of being an Electrician? In IT? A Lawyer? But not sure how to get there or what it entails?

We have found many different Alumni from a diverse range of careers.

If you have a particular desire for a career or study path, and would love to connect with a mentor, please let us know.

We have some Alumni who are available for a chat, and we’d love to help facilitate some time with someone who might be able to answer all the questions you have.

If you have any suggestions or questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at alumni@nbc.vic.edu.au
