From the Principal - Rob French

As my first year as Principal at Kilvington, it has been a truly wonderful 2022.  After some concern at the start of the year that we were facing another interrupted year due to COVID-19, it was wonderful to have our students back onsite fully participating in curricular and co-curricular activities and our alumni connecting with each other at the reunions and other events.

Throughout the year I have been frequently asked about my first impressions of Kilvington.  I respond that, overwhelmingly, the first thing that struck me about the School is the amazing sense of community.  This community spirit is evident in the manner with which our students support one another and respect individual differences.  It is evident also in the quality of relationships between students and their teachers and demonstrated by the way that the community comes together to support a wide range of causes. This community spirit has been forged over generations and I salute all past Kilvonians for the role they played in fostering this during their time at school.

As my first year draws to a close, I have many wonderful memories of 2022. I have been constantly impressed by the calibre of our students and I thank them for making this such a great community to be a part of.

I wish to extend my thanks once again for the warm welcome I received this year; it has been wonderful getting to know members of our community and a privilege to be the new Principal. This is truly an amazing community, and our students, staff and alumni make every day a joy.

Please stay safe and healthy over the break. I am looking forward to seeing everyone back to reunions and alumni events for our centenary year in 2023! Happy holidays!

Year 12 2022 results

We are extremely proud of Kilvington Grammar’s Class of 2022 ATAR results. These students have endured a challenging lead up to Year 12, as they faced extended periods of online learning and months of uncertainty while undertaking Year 10 and 11. Nevertheless, this cohort has done incredibly well and maintained a strong sense of unity as they supported one another through their final year of school.

We congratulate Peter Wang for achieving an ATAR of 99.75 and becoming Dux of the School.

Congratulations also Hamish Bruce, Melissa Deacon, Sophie Xu, Pia O’Reilly, Grace Kiosoglous and Oliver Miles-Fine for achieving scores over 98. Well done to Peter Wang and Thomas Williamson for achieving study scores of 50 in Further Mathematics.

This prestigious award recognises a member of our community who has made an outstanding contribution to the School for more than five years. It is based on nominations received from our community.

Ada works wonderfully with our expat families to ensure community and inclusion and is always available to help with a myriad of questions and queries that come her way. She represents the PFA at Open Mornings and is always ready to put up her hand up to volunteer.

Congratulations Ada and thank you.

Celebration Night

The Kilvington 2022 Celebration Night was held at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University on Friday 25 November. After two years of COVID-19 interruptions it was wonderful to gather our school community together and enjoy the outstanding musical performances, celebrate award winners and give a heartfelt farewell to our Year 12 students.
