NAIDOC Week @ MCC
The theme of this year’s NAIDOC Week is Get up! Stand up! Show up!

Our NAIDOC Week celebrations are kicked off on Monday (15/8) with a gold coin donation to dress in indigenous colours.
Aboriginal - red, yellow & black.
Torres Straight - blue, green, white & black.
All money raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATIONS IN 2022
Enjoy the indigenous music played over the PA each recess throughout the week. Each lunch get involved in a variety of free activities, including:
Colour mindful indigenous art.
Make your own clapping sticks.
Contribute to a collective art work.
Play various indigenous sport games.
Compete in spear throwing competitions (javelin or Vortex).
Join a book club discussion on “Growing up Aboriginal in Australia”
Sew your own scrunchies or face masks from indigenous styled fabric.
Enjoy some popcorn as you watch a range of indigenous themed movies and documentaries.
Taste a range of indigenous food each lunchtime:-
- Monday: riberry & strawberry ice cream
- Tuesday: BBQ kangaroo with roo snags & meatballs
- Wednesday: Lemon myrtle, macadamia & white chocolate mini muffins
- Thursday: Wattleseed damper with eucalyptus butter
- Friday: DIY wattleseed chocolate puddings
