John XXIII Rowing Club
Our All Schools Regatta 3 was a day that many of us were glad to wrap up. Under challenging conditions, rower were fantastic in demonstrating their JTC Spirit. Well done to all involved.
All Schools State Championship Regatta 6 August
In the lead up to our final regatta of the season, we continue to urge all rowers to attend all training sessions. Rowers and families, please be aware that this regatta is the longest of them all.
Bus details:
- 6:15am – Pick up John XXIII College
- 6:00 pm – drop off at Canning Bridge Rowing Academy
This Regatta includes heats and finals. The last race of the day is 4:40pm.
If you cannot attend for the entire Regatta, you MUST let me or the coaches know. The College is fined if we have to scratch races, therefore, if you cannot attend all of your races, we will not be entering you.
In addition, entries for this Regatta will be based on your attendance at training and entering our fastest crews. If you have not attended all trainings, you will likely be entered in one race or be coxing. Please see your coaches for more information.
All rowers will be expected to return to the sheds to assist with boat unloading. This is the last time for the season. Pizza will be on hand to lift the spirit for all.
Year 8 Rowing
Our first week in the Year 8 Rowing Program has started strong. It was pleasing to see the enthusiasm in all students and the preparation from all.
Training will continue next week with Group A in a water session on Monday and Group B completing their water session on Wednesday.
All rowers are reminded they must have a mask to travel by bus to the river.
2022 Presentation Evening
This year we will join as a rowing community to celebrate the 2022 Rowing Season. Our evening will be held on 17 September at John XXIII College. Families will be emailed next week with an expression of interest form to allow preparation to begin for numbers and catering. Please reach out should you have any questions.
