From Mrs Hogg
As we enter Phase 1 in this brave new world, I would like to thank those families that have been in constant communication with the school. Your questions, feedback and engagement with teachers truly is appreciated.
Phase 1 sees all BWPS students allocated a day to attend, with the school open everyday for those students who need to attend.
We are asking parents and caregivers to drop off and pick up students outside of the school gates, only entering the school grounds when absolutely necessary.
Students will be in their class groups where possible, however, they may not have their normal class teacher as teachers teach face-to-face, respond to students online, mark paper packs and prepare lessons for the days ahead.
Students will need to bring crunch 'n' sip, recess, lunch and their water bottle on days they attend. Bubblers at school will only be able to be used to refill water bottles.
We ask that on the days students attend, they return any completed work and readers that may need to be changed. Library books are also able to be returned, however, we are not yet allowing borrowing.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Book Club
Order forms for the Scholastic Book Club No 3 are currently available. As many students around the country are returning to school at different times Scholastic have prepared a virtual catalogue. It can be accessed at https://scholastic.com.au/book-club/virtual-catalogue-1/
There are several payment options. You may pay by cash or cheque in an envelope marked with their name and class. They should be returned to the office. You will need to print a copy of the order form or simply write your name, class, book title and catalogue number on a sheet of paper.
You can also pay be credit card online by going to scholastic.com.au/LOOP
If you pay be LOOP you DO NOT need to return any paper work to school. The school will be notified that you have placed and paid for an order. Your order will be returned with the other orders that have been placed by the school.
Once the school received the orders from Scholastic they will be sorted up and Mrs O'Mally will either phone you or send a message on Class Dojo to let you know that your order is ready for collection. Orders will be left in the front office to be collected.
Order forms for Issue 3 are due tomorrow Tuesday, 12th May.
New Playground Markings
Last Friday, our new playground markings were primed, laid and heat blasted. It is great to see colour in the playground. We hope the students will enjoy playing games on the markings.
Mother's Day
We hope all our Burkie mums, nans and mother figures enjoyed their special day on Sunday.
A big thank you to Mrs Deena Tangey who donated four bunches of flowers that we raffled off in a random draw for those students in attendance on Friday.
Congratulations to Shae, Emersson-Lee, Ciarn and Aiden who all walked away winners.
