School Based Traineeship Advertisement - Retail

This opportunity is presented to Year 10s, 11s and 12s by the Galati Group enterprise which owns The Spud Shed, amongst other new brands. The company is expanding its stores across the Metropolitan Area and invite students to apply for the chance to work on the shop floor in a retail and food environment, whilst completing a Certificate II in Retail - and get paid for it. 

 

The Galati Group is offering:

  • On-the-job training (one or two days per week, student age depending)
  • Store location - Innaloo
  • RTO - Vocational Training Services
  • Nominated Term - 18 months (competency based training)
  • Students must be available to start immediately upon submitting application

Students can apply if you are:

  • Keen to have a future career in the retail business, within a food and beverage industry where the possibilities are endless (supervisors, team leaders, business operations, store managers)
  • Keen to be part of a supporting team and be a good team player who is resilient
  • Happy to talk to customers and meet their expectations
  • Be reliable and committed to the traineeship and the employer
  • Keen to learn and ask questions in order to get ahead in the workplace and succeed in your qualification
  • Able to get to Innaloo and have good family support

To apply complete the EOI form below and return it with your resume, work reference (if you have one) and your latest school report. Please note, no Drug and Alcohol test is required to be taken for this industry as part of the application. However, if the employer requests it, applicants will have to undertake the test as part of the process. You will be advised of this when an application is submitted.

STEM Careers Event

The Innovators' Tea Party are running a free STEM careers event for students in Years 7 to 9 on Monday 12 November 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the City of Perth Library. 

 

'Inspire in 5' is a free careers presentation event to demystify what a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) looks like while showcasing positive female STEM role models to students. The two hour interactive event will include 12 presentations from women working in a range of STEM fields including astronomy, medicine, chemistry, science communication, game development, medical research, engineering, AR/VR development and environmental conservation.
