FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS

Gratitude over the holidays

Throughout this terms Connect Groups, students, teachers and parents who have attended have been talking about, practicing and thinking of ways to demonstrate gratitude. Gratitude is such an important part of how we nurture and build our relationships with others, and here at RNPS, we have been thinking hard about the ways we show gratitude to those in and around the school. On Wednesday of this week, students spent some time creating Gratitude Notes for special people in their lives. It was lovely to read some of these notes, with lots of special words and pictures being written and drawn for parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, teachers, sports coaches and music teachers. Hopefully, you enjoyed receiving some beautiful words of gratitude from our students.

Over the holidays, it would be lovely to think about some of the things you are grateful for, and encourage students to talk about these. Something that one of our amazing students shared with my Connect Group was the 'Rose, Thorn, Banana, Bread' conversation they have at home with their parents. In this, the Rose is something lovely that happened during the day, the Thorn is something that was a bit challenging, the Banana is something that made you smile, and the Bread is something you are grateful for. What an awesome way to quickly share about your day!
