Year 5/6 Cricket report

On the 13th of November an eager group of Year 5/6 students participated in the annual Milo T20 Blast cricket tournament.  We had four teams representing Miners Rest on the day with all teams tasting success at some stage throughout the day.  Our most successful team for the day was our boys’ team who managed to end the day undefeated, meaning they were headed to the Grand Final against Clarendon College (who they had beaten throughout the day).  From the very start of the game it was run for run and 6’s and 4’s flying around the oval, we knew it was going to come down to the very last innings.  As we bowled the last ball, unfortunately the very talented Clarendon College batsman hit the ball for 6 (gaining double points too), winning the game by a very close 7 runs for Clarendon.  Overall it was a fantastic day and all Miners Rest students showed outstanding sportsmanship.  Congratulations to all students who participated and Miss Allen, Emily, Hannah and Simone for coaching our teams.
