Middle School

Middle School has been a hive of activity over the past few weeks, with preparations underway for several events that are back up and running in 2021. With Year 9 Camp fast approaching and rehearsals ramping up for our Middle School Production of ‘High School Musical’, we have enjoyed seeing our community coming together to make the most of the opportunities on offer.

Student Leadership Training Day

Last Monday, our Middle School student leaders took part in the Student Leadership Training Day, working together in their portfolio groups to identify important issues for their peers at RSC. They shared ideas, discussed strategies to improve the school community, and enjoyed a bit of fun and some team-building games along the way. We are very proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing what they can achieve this year!

Year 10 Central

Central T-shirt design ideas: Calling all artists!

One highlight of the Year 10 Central trip is getting some great photos while wearing our matching Central t-shirts. If you have a design idea for the t-shirts, please send them to Kim Watson: kwatson@ringwoodsc.vic.edu.au

Additionally, if any students are no longer able to attend the Central trip, please let Kim know as soon as possible, as there is a waiting list.

Year 10 Formal

Last Saturday, the Year 10 Formal Committee made a visit to our chosen venue, Vogue Ballroom, as part of their preparations for the big event on Tuesday December 7th at 6pm. The committee were treated to a guided tour and were able to cast an eye over the menu and decoration choices. We know that it’s never too early for students to start thinking about their formal outfits, so keep your eyes peeled for that perfect dress, tie, jacket, or other fashion accessory that will win you the coveted ‘Best Dressed’ award!

Year 10 Work Experience

Students are encouraged to begin thinking about their work experience placement, which is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the professional environment or get a taste for a future career. Information was presented to students in a special assembly last week and is available on Compass newsfeed. Please contact Alyce Bailey if you have any Work Experience questions: abailey2@ringwoodsc.vic.edu.au

The dates of Work Experience for students not attending Central Australia students are: June 21st – 25th (Week 10 of Term 2). This is compulsory as it takes the place of classes for these students.

For Central Australia students, Work Experience is encouraged (it is not compulsory as the students would be doing it in holidays). The dates they are able to complete their Work Experience placement are as follows:

Term 1 Holidays (April 12th – April 16th)Term 2 Holidays after Central (July 5th – July 9th)Term 3 Holidays (September 20th – Sept. 24th OR Sept. 27th – October 1st)End of year (December 13th – December 17th)
