with the Year 4s
This term in Year Four we have been learning to write about poetry. We have learnt about Cinquain, Clerihew and Tanka poems. Through writing clerihew poems students have learnt to write witty rhyming poems about their favourite celebrities and teachers! While writing these poems students have learnt how to uplevel our work, using a thesaurus to find new and exciting words. They have also learnt how to plan before they write about topics that interest them and how to use a checklist to edit their work. It has been fantastic to see students publish some fantastic pieces of poetry.
