Big Breakfast
We can't wait to see you all this Friday at our Big Breakfast!
This will be a great opportunity to catch up with everyone, meet new families and say hello to your child's teachers.
Our Big Brekky will feature a selection of muffins, pastries, doughnuts, and of course our traditional sausage sizzle. Basically, all the healthy stuff! We will of course complement this with a selection of fruit, juices, tea and coffee (from the onsite Coffee Van).
A huge amount of planning and preparation has taken place in the background to ensure the event adheres to the protocols of Victoria's COVID-Safe Settings within the 'Public Events Framework'. Our Big Breakfast has been registered with the Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions (DJPR). A copy of the COVIDSafe Event Checklist can be accessed via the link below-
The checklist enables all attendees to understand the event is registered and that we have undertaken COVIDSafe measures for our event.
All adults attending will need to :
- 'Sign in' via the QR codes on display at each school entrance
- Observe the 1.5m social distancing measure at all times
- Wear a face mask if you can not socially distance
- Stay home if you are feeling unwell
We are really looking forward to seeing you all there so let's hope the weather is kind!
Absentees and School App
We understand that many parents have been experiencing some technical issues with the Absentee Portal on the school app. This issue has now been fixed. If you are still experiencing problems, please try re-launching the app.
In the future, if the absentee portal on the app is down, please email Miss Debbie Yarak on dyarak@cckingsville.catholic.edu.au or call the school office on 9314 7303 to inform of your child’s absence. All absentee details/reasons must be recorded by the school.
If you are yet to download the app, this can be done via Google Play or the App Store (iOS).
Morning Prayer
As COVID restrictions continue to ease we now invite families to join us in our Learning Communities for morning prayer as has been the case in previous years.
Families are invited to quietly enter the Learning Communities on the first bell at 8:57am as the children come in from play (please do not enter the room earlier as that would put you over the 15 minute 'grace time' before you would have to sign in at the office).
We ask that you allow the children their continued independence to unpack their bags and belongings as they are now quite proficient at it.
Your teachers will direct you to space out around the children to commence prayer. If you can't socially distance, we encourage you to wear a face mask.
Please remember that our prayer time is a time of reverence and peace. It's not a time for conversation. Toddlers are to remain on your lap and are not to roam the room or play. Our children know our prayer routine and they will model expected behaviour.
Welcome back!
PSG Meetings and Learning Conferences
Please be advised that Parent Support Group Meetings (PSGs) have been scheduled for:
Wednesday 17th March
Friday 19th March
Thursday 25th March
Friday 26th March
Applicable families will be contacted shortly with registration details.
Cross Country
This Friday our Cross Country team will compete in the Footscray District Cross Country Carnival at Hansen Reserve.
Our 10-year-olds will need to complete a 2km course while our 11 and 12-year-olds will need to endure a grueling 3 km course. We wish them the best of luck and trust that they will represent our school with pride.
Ride 2 School Day
National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel and one of the best days on the school calendar. It is a morning where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.
On Friday 19th March, Corpus Christi School will be taking part in the “National Ride2SchoolDay.” Using the same route as last year, students and their parents will meet at Hansen Reserve, the opposite side of the carpark, along Glamis Road. From there we will all ride, scooter or walk to school together.
Students are invited to decorate their bike if they wish. Upon reaching school, students who have participated will receive a sticker. We would love to see as many families involved as we can.
