Principal's Report

Principal's Report

I would like to sincerely thank every member of our school community for their support when we moved to a period of remote and flexible provision from Monday 15 February to Wednesday 17 February inclusive.

During this period schools were asked to enable continuity of learning from home.  I would like to thank our staff for preparing and collating learning tasks for students to take home on Friday 12 February.  This task was completed in an extremely short time frame!

I would also like to thank the team of staff who worked throughout the weekend organising the “Onsite Supervision” program and preparation of materials for students not in attendance at school on Friday. This is an exemplary example of how a team works in a productive and positive manner.

The resilience and adaptability of our students is to be greatly applauded and respected by us all. Often children accept change more easily than adults.  We had only had 12 days at school when this “circuit breaker” was announced.

2021 School Captains and House Captains Badge Presentation

Congratulations to our 2021 School Captains, Vice Captains and House Captains who received their badges on Tuesday 3 February.  It was also wonderful having the parents, siblings and grandparents in attendance to share in this special occasion.

One of the first roles of our school leaders was to direct our special visitors to the QR Codes placed around the school.  Times are certainly changing as a result of COVID 19.  Thank you to our special guests who registered with a smile of their face.  Your ongoing support for the many changes occurring in school is greatly appreciated.

Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund Applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 9589 5449 and ask for an application form.

Check with the school office if you are unsure, and please return completed forms to the school office as soon as possible.

Some Positive actions during COVID-19 Restrictions

Unfortunately our students and staff are now finding that many pet owners are totally disrespecting our school grounds particularly our oval.

Prior to any sporting and physical education activity the staff finding themselves having to clean up after irresponsible pet owners.  When our school grounds were closed to adults we did not have this issue.

Our students could play freely without worrying about what might land on their footwear!

I ask that our school community members support us with this problem.  If you see pet owners in our school ground could you please remind them to pick up after their dog.
