Final Immunisation Sessions

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Melton Council’s Immunisation department will be hosting the final immunisation sessions, to complete the delayed 2020 Year 7 Immunisation program, at the Melton Community Hall;

Dates:

Monday 29th March 2021 - 3.30pm – 7.00pm   (appointment only)

Wednesday 7th April 2021 - 3.30pm – 7.00pm  (appointment only)

These sessions will be held at the Melton Community Hall, 232 High St Melton and will be by appointment only, please book through  www.trybooking.com/BOUBH

The 2020 Year 7 Secondary School Immunisation program was interrupted for certain schools, because of COVID19 and school closures. Because of this, we are now completing the delayed 2020 Year 7 Immunisation program at the Melton Community Hall on the scheduled dates (listed above).  Most parents and guardians were notified of this process when attending our sessions last year.

The immunisation sessions are appointment based and we will be administering the second and final dose of the HPV vaccine to complete the delayed 2020 Year 7 Immunisation program.  If you have taken your child to a GP or a nurse practitioner to receive the 2nd dose of the HPV, you will not need to attend these sessions.

  • The sessions are a wellbeing clinic with all students, parents/guardians and staff being excluded if showing any symptoms of respiratory infection (limit of one parent/guardian per student in attendance).
  • The sessions will be adhering to physical distancing measures when within the community hall, whether it is pre or post vaccine (there is a 15 minute observation period within the hall, post vaccine).
  • We will be providing adequate disinfection within our centre – ensuring hand sanitisers are available for all.
  • All staff in attendance at the immunisation sessions, will be wearing required personal protection equipment (PPE), as per DHHS requirements.
  • Please ensure all attendees over the ages of 12 years old are wearing face masks.
  • If preferred, your local GP (doctor) can provide this vaccine.
  • If more appointments are required due to the demand with us, they will be offered.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Immunisation Officer at Melton Council on 9747 7246 or email zoeg@melton.vic.gov.au
