Meet the UQ Science Ambassadors  for 2021

Congratulations to the following three Year 11 science students who have been selected to participate in the Science Ambassador Program with the University of Queensland in 2021.  These three students - Jorja Wallace, Daisy Lacanau, and Lauren D’Agostino - will be working with the team at UQ to promote women in science, not only here at the College but also within the wider Brisbane area.  So stay tuned over the coming terms for some SCIENTRIFIC initiatives in which to become involved, facilitated by these amazing Year 11 students.

QUT 2021 High School STEM Internship Program

An massive congratulations also goes to Fiona George, a Year 12 student who has been offered at very coveted position in the QUT STEM Internship Program over the Easter Break.  This program is a highly sought-after experience, and Fiona is one of five students in the State to be offered the opportunity of the internship.

Fiona will be participating in scientific research during her internship related to The Genetics of Migraines.  Congratulations, Fiona, on this wonderful achievement.

Year 10 Biology Field Trip

Our Year 10 Biologists this term spent a day at the beach.  Point Cartwright provided a great day - rain-free - where students were able to collect data on organisms from rock pools and along the shoreline.

Year 10 Physics Field Trip

Term 1 Physics students had the enviable experience of data collection at Aussie World, related to their course in Physics.  Whoever said "PHYSICS IS FUN" was right.
