VCE Theatre Studies 1-4
Fresh off the back of their own production, ‘The Odd Couples’, the Theatre Studies 1-4 class now get to go out and see how the professionals do it. Over the last two weeks we have had evening excursions to ‘Harry Potter & the Cursed Child’ at the Princess Theatre, and Bell Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ at the Arts Centre.
Jovial train rides (one with a 45 minute stopover at Toorak station), group dinners, dementors, witches, soliloquys, merchandise shopping, high quality productions and return train journeys where they record as many magic moments from the show as they can remember … what’s not to like?
The students have responded so positively to the experience and it opens their eyes up to what can be done through direction, design and acting.
Next week they’re off to St Leonards to see their class production of ‘Cosi’.
Two more shows scheduled for Term 3.
That’s why we do Theatre Studies.
