Wellbeing Matters

Whole-school Boys Program

On Monday during GOAL session, inspirational speaker, Jianun Tao, spoke to our boys/those who identify as male, about challenging the unhelpful notions of manhood and to broaden their thinking about what it means to be healthy positive young men. As men we were encouraged to 'show up' for the people in our lives by being kind, safe, and fair, and striving to be our best selves.

Year 10 Wellbeing Day

Friday 2 June – all day

On Friday 2 June, all Year 10 students will be participating in The Flourish girl program or Man Cave. Please take a moment to read about the workshops and watch the brief videos. This will be a great opportunity for our Year 10 students to immerse themselves in a deeper understanding of themselves.

Students may wear their sports uniform.
FLOURISH GIRL: For Year 10 girls and those identifying as female.

This program is designed to give girls the opportunity to build the social and emotional tools they need to connect deeper with themselves. Girls learn how to become more resilient and compassionate to themselves first, before they look to help and support others. When girls learn to develop a healthy relationship with themselves, it creates space for them to feel more confident to speak up, ask for help when they need it and be authentic in who they are.

THE MAN CAVE: For Year 10 boys and those identifying as male.

Right now there is no clear Rite of Passage for boys into Manhood. Because of this, boys often initiate themselves into manhood, which usually results in risk-taking behaviour to ‘prove’ their masculinity (e.g. binge drinking, objectifying women, etc.). The purpose of this program is to fill this gap. To provide boys with a safe, healthy, and contained Rite of Passage into manhood. This program is designed to be transformational and to support psychological and emotional development of boys so they can become good young men.
